Thanks to the initiative of the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion MIES for the Sucre–San Vicente–Jama district, which called together various local organizations and universities, including our Fundación Pasos de Luz, to collaborated for creating a community event to celebrate Children’s Day that intentionally includes activities in which children with neurodevelopmental conditions can fully participate.
During the planning meeting we had the opportunity to discuss proposals for inclusive activities to add to the festival so that children with any condition (Autism, Down syndrome) can enjoy themselves, have fun, and fully connect on this special day.
Inclusion is a daily practice that enriches the whole community. We thank the Ministry for opening the door to this collaboration.
