We want to continue opening spaces for dialogue on autism, neurodiversity, and education, such as the talk and reading of the book “Volamos juntos” by psychologist and inclusive education expert Andrea Villasmil, which we held on Friday, March 21.
That day we were joined by education authorities and delegates from local schools, representatives from the Casa de la Cultura, teachers, and parents of children with autism. Attendees shared their experiences and we opened a space for awareness and understanding of the situations many autistic children face in schools, as well as the feelings of their parents, reminding that inclusive education is not an option but a right.
As Fundación Pasos de Luz, we are deeply grateful for our community’s willingness to learn about and engage in these topics, which help us build a better future for our children with neurodevelopmental conditions.
